Here you can find links to papers about CAVB research.  More research will be conducted to determine best practices when using CAVB to support teaching and learning.

Abstract:  This study examines the use of blogs as a platform for content related videos that English Language Learners (ELLs) can watch to better understand content concepts.  ELLs have to overcome many challenges as they acquire the English language.  Many ELLs have a hard time internalizing a deep understanding of content to further their education. A Content Area Video Blog (CAVB) is a platform teachers can easily create to engage and enhance students' ability to understand and learn academic vernacular.  In this study, inservice teachers provide their perceptions on the use of CAVBs. Results indicate a positive perception of CAVBs helping students development academic language.  CAVBs can be implemented in any content area to make content comprehensible.  CAVBs can be created to prepare and reinforce ELLs' understanding of content that will promote academic success.
